Wimbledon: Justine Henin v Nadia Petrova as it happened

Justine Henin tells BBC Sport: "I am very happy the way I played today. That may be the best level I have played since I have come back. It is not like Nadia did not play well. She pushed me to raise my level so I had to play a good match to win. It is fantastic to play Kim again - it is a great opportunity for both of us and we are going to try to enjoy it."

Henin 6-1 6-4 Petrova
Petrova serving to stay in the match. Henin makes a rare unforced error on the backhand side before Petrova chokes at the net, fluffing a very wooden-looking forehand volley. Landon Donovan goal lifts Americans in USA-Algeria World Cup showdown

It's already being called the most memorable score in United States soccer history. A Landon Donovan goal in the 91st minute lifted the Americans during the USA-Algeria World Cup showdown on Wednesday morning to a 1-0 victory, punching a ticket to the second round of the tournament.

JERMAIN DEFOE was today given the nod up front for England's vital World Cup clash with Slovenia.

The Tottenham striker will partner Wayne Rooney in attack as the Three Lions go in search of victory to progress to the knockout stages.

Anything less than three points is likely to send Fabio Capello's men packing from South Africa, although a high-scoring draw could still seal qualification depending on the result of the other Group C clash between USA and Algeria.

Aston Villa midfielder James Milner is also included on the right wing in Capello's starting XI. He replaces former Leeds team-mate Aaron Lennon, who drops to the bench.

At the back, Matthew Upson fills in for the suspended Jamie Carragher and David James keeps his place in goal after replacing Robert Green for the disappointing draw with Algeria.
